Council seeks input on cannabis
Mayor Ken Hewitt invited Haldimand residents to join him and councillors at a series of open houses scheduled for January.
“This is a great opportunity to share your ideas and ask questions before we head into priority sessions and budgeting,” said Hewitt.
The first open house will take place on January 14, 2019 in Caledonia at the HCCC (Remax Room), followed by one at the Cayuga Arena (McSorley Room) on January 16. The following week an open house will be held on January 22 at the Jarvis Community Centre and January 23 at the Dunnville Community Lifespan Centre. All open houses begin at 7 p.m.
A decision on Harrop Drain
The Ontario Superior Court of Justice in the Court of the Drainage Referee has ordered the County to complete a new engineer’s report for the Harrop Drain and adjusted the assessments of three properties. These costs were assessed to the County.
To meet the requirements ordered by the Court, staff will include $60,000 in the 2019 draft Tax Capital Budget to fund the new engineers’ report.
