County seeks grant for active living centre: Addition to Hagersville Library

HAGERSVILLE—Haldimand County Council unanimously approved moving forward with an application to the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) for a joint Library and Active Living Centre in Hagersville.

Ward 4 Councillor Tony Dalimonte said while it is still early and only a grant application, he is in support of the proposal: “We are excited at the possibility that this funding could support the construction of a new Hagersville Library as well as co-locating an Active Living Centre, which would be a new multi-purpose, multigenerational wellness and socialization space for the community,” said Dalimonte.

Currently, the Hagersville Library is undergoing a feasibility study related to creating a more efficient and accessible library for patrons. In the 2020 tax-supported capital budget, $3.5 million has been set aside for library construction.
