HALDIMAND—Paxlovid, a new antiviral pill used to treat COVID-19 that has recently been championed by Haldimand-Norfolk’s Acting Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Matt Strauss, is now available at four locations throughout Haldimand County as part of a province-wide expansion of access that brings the drug to 1,700 pharmacies in Ontario.
“I am very pleased and excited that Paxlovid is now offered in our community. Every part of our health care system – GPs, pharmacists, hospitals, public health – needs to keep working hard to get this medicine to the people who need it,” said Strauss of the news.
