Dunnville celebrates Canada Day under a blistering sun

By Kerry J Newstead

DUNNVILLE—Under beautiful skies and despite extreme heat, Central Park in Dunnville came alive with the sounds and sights of Canada Day.

Hosted by the Dunnville Optimist Club with assistance from Dunnville Rotary, Legion, and Lions, Canada Day in the Park offered a variety of fun activities to about 500 attendees.

The Legion manned a hot dog barbecue while the Optimists offered popcorn and lemonade. Mike Myron played popular songs in the bandshell while volunteers ran several activities, from a bouncy castle to face painting. Among the many vendor tables and information booths, the No. 6 RCAF Dunnville Museum had a quarter-scale Harvard airplane available to sit in.

The organizers thanked the many sponsors and volunteers who made this event a fun and affordable community event.
