DUNNVILLE—A great time was had this past weekend as people dressed up for the sold-out ABBAmania event and enjoyed the “Swedish-inspired” cuisine of Scratch Made Catering and the music of Abba on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
Two more fundraisers to support Optimist youth projects are being held in March. A portion of the money raised at the annual Ham Raffle on Friday, March 29 is being used to support the Dunnville Youth Soccer Association. The raffle begins at 7 p.m. and a $20 ticket includes a late lunch, snacks, and the opportunity to win hams, gift certificates, and cash prizes. The second fundraiser, the Spring Bazaar, will feature local vendors, free Easter Bunny photos, lots of prizes, and a breakfast and lunch menu. There is no admission fee to the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Money raised at the Spring Bazaar on Saturday, March 30 will be applied to the Christine Pinnance Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Christina Pinnance was an Optimist member who volunteered much of her time to finding ways to improve the community in which she lived. When she joined the Optimist Club, her passion for the youth was very evident. Every decision she made as the president was focused on how the decision was going to bring out the best in the youth in the community. Christina passed away suddenly last December. Money collected in her memory has been put into this fund.
