DUNNVILLE—On April 29, 2023 a hardy group of 17 Rotary members, family, and friends ventured out on a windy, rainy morning to clean up the beaches at James N. Allen Park in Dunnville. This second annual clean up was part of the much larger Great Lakes Watershed Cleanup, and was under the guidance of Parks Ontario. Lynn Spencer, Rotary President Elect, said, “We completed another successful clean up and collected over 20 garbage bags and a large pile of bigger items. It’s very clear that our previous clean up last year has had a very positive effect on the reduced amount of debris collected this year.” The day wrapped up with pizza and prizes for different categories of garbage retrieved. Spencer added, “We look forward to continuing this in the future as one of our regular community events.”
