DUNNVILLE—The Dunnville Tim Hortons has smiled its way to first place for the second year in a row in the Smile Cookie campaign. After a friendly challenge from nearby Binbrook Tim Hortons when Dunnville managed to sell $22,748 in cookies last year, the community rallied together and bought a whopping 42,879 $1 cookies this year, breaking the previous record.
“Our amazing community and fantastic supporters, hardworking Tim Hortons crew, dedicated and motivated volunteers, who have put in endless hours this past week, have done it! We are number one in Canada!” posted the Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation, which will be benefitting from the proceeds. The full $1 of each purchase goes back to charity. “We cannot thank each and every one of you enough! This is incredible and we are so thrilled to be supported by you all…. Thank you to the fun store in Binbrook that gave us great competition too.”
Ryan DiTomasso, Franchisee, added, “I would like to thank my wonderful managers and team members, the many volunteers who came out to decorate cookies, the people of Dunnville and surrounding area, as well as the Hospital Foundation and hospital food services department, and the many local businesses, shops, organizations, and restaurants who allowed us to set up and sell cookies and donated prizes for our draws. Without the effort and generosity of all these people and businesses, we would have never achieved such success.”
