Dunnville walks for Alzheimer’s

DUNNVILLE—On May 1, 2022 the Alzheimer Society kicked off their month-long Walk for Alzheimer’s campaign. Judy Fowlie, Counsellor for the Alzheimer Society (shown far right) said, “As a counsellor of the Alzheimer Society I am proud to provide support to families within the Haldimand and Norfolk area.”

Allison Mackenzie, Community Development Officer for Haldimand Norfolk, (shown left) said, “To be involved with the Alzheimer Society and walk, it’s really important and it’s really a family disease.” Darlene Hatcher of Dunnville (centre) said, “I am walking in support of my husband who has Alzheimer’s. This is my eldest granddaughter Avery who is walking for her Poppy.” Over 500,000 Canadians currently live with dementia and 1 in 5 Canadians have experienced caring for someone living with dementia.
