Empties full of opportunity for local non-profits

DUNNVILLE—On Saturday, September 12, 2020 the Dunnville Rotary Club held a bottle drive in the parking lot of Julia’s Bistro from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. “Since we weren’t able to hold our usual fundraisers, such as the golf tournament and the Dunnville Urban Challenge, we decided to hold a bottle drive as a way to raise funds to give back to the community. Funds raised will be put into the Community Wellness Fund and will be used as need arises,” said Lynn Spencer, Rotary Vice President. JARVIS—The Jarvis Lions had a busy morning of sorting and counting on September 12, 2020 as they held a bottle drive to raise funds for Camp Trillium Rainbow Lake in Waterford. Proceeds will go towards necessary maintenance of the cabin, which the club built in 1995-96. This was the club’s second bottle drive this year and Co-Chair Jack Stallwood said, “The community support has been very good for both drives.” This summer, club members and volunteers were able to work at the camp to replace windows and eaves troughs, and re-stain the cabin.
