Holiday Tours by Donation: Chiefswood & Ruthven Park

Admission: “Give what you can” food donation per family, per site
Guided tours every half hour, 11AM–4PM

Description: Celebrate the season with history, culture, and community at two beautifully decorated heritage homes.

Chiefswood Park
-Tour the 1850s Johnson family home, adorned in authentic Victorian holiday décor
-Guided storytelling of Mohawk poetess E. Pauline Johnson and life in a home “Where Cultures Meet”
-Children’s festive crafts and activities
-Seasonal treats: sugar cookies, mulled cider, hot chocolate, and tea in a warm historic setting

Ruthven Park
-Explore the Thompson family’s Greek Revival mansion glowing with generations of Christmas décor
-View the Victorian Parlour Exhibit on historical games and holiday pastimes
-Children’s activities in the Coach House
-Enjoy hot chocolate and a welcoming atmosphere in this grand historic space
