Fisherville Lions have ice rink up and running
FISHERVILLE—It has officially gotten cold enough and the Fisherville Lions have installed the ice at their Multi-purpose Outdoor Recreation Facility. The rink was flooded on February 4, twice on February 6, and again on February 7 and 8 to make the perfect surface for skating. Skating was able to take place beginning February 8, although no hockey is currently allowed and visitors are asked to vacate the rink by 9 p.m. each night. The facility first opened in the winter of 2014/15. Lion Jim Rohrbach explains, “Lions Walt Schaeffer and Jim Swing and the rest of the Lions team have worked tirelessly over the years it has been operational figuring things out and they have spent countless hours working on this. We also appreciate the help of Brian Hartwick as he has worked hard with us!” Lion Rohrbach added, “All we ask is that until restrictions are lifted that people refrain from playing hockey and that they obey all COVID guidelines regarding social distancing. Most of all, we hope that the community uses the facility and has fun!” —Submitted photo.
