FISHERVILLE—Staff at the Fisherville Hotel and Tavern are celebrating another successful year of the annual ‘Soup-A-Bowl’ fundraiser, which brought in $2,300 this year.
This works out to be a full $700 more than the popular promotion raised in 2021.
“This year’s Soup-A-Bowl fundraiser exceeded our expectations,” said co-owner Janna Overend. “We were hoping to raise $2,000 beating last year’s fundraiser of $1,600.”
The fundraiser ran from February 10-13. In addition to the many patrons who enjoyed either a bowl of corn chowder (made using a 50-pound donation from Snyder’s Sweet Corn), or chili (using beans grown at Pristine Gourmet, Waterford), Overend said some community members made significant donations as well.
“Thank you for the generous monetary donations, Jodi M, Betty O, Tanya Clarke, Darren Papineau, and Chuck Hogeterp,” she said.
To those who came out and participated, Overend added, “Thank you so much for being a part of Soup-A-Bowl 2022 and supporting the cause.”
She concluded, “We’re so humbled and proud to be able to do good things together as a community!”
