DUNNVILLE—Dunnville’s Wingfield Park is once again hosting 158 flags as part of the annual Flags of Remembrance, which held its second annual ceremony locally on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
Event organizer Brent O’Connor said the event went “very well”, noting the beautiful weather attendees enjoyed as the flags were unveiled. “The weather held out for us.”
Former MPP Toby Barrett joined Haldimand Mayor Ken Hewitt and Ward 6 Councillor Bernie Corbett in addressing the crowd, while members of the Legion 163 Pipe and Drum band marched in honour of the sponsored veterans, whose names appear on plaques affixed to the flag poles.
