Food, games & friendship at Community Living gathering

CAYUGA — Community Living Haldimand (CLH) lived up to its name with the first-ever Friends and Family Dinner and Corn Roast on August 19, 2026, welcoming the community to gather and connect.

The threat of rain was unable to dampen the spirits of staff and guests, with 70 people attending to enjoy a delicious dinner.

Heather Furtney, Chair of the CLH Board, said this was a great opportunity to get together in the summer, noting they already have a long-standing winter gathering.

Attendees enjoyed plenty of fresh buttered corn, pulled pork, salads, and dessert. There were plenty of chances for moving and thinking as well, with many activities to try, including corn hole and Connect Four.

Furtney thanked the North of 65 committee for organizing this event.
