SELKIRK—About 40 people visited Selkirk Centennial Community Centre for the Wilson MacDonald Memorial School Museum’s annual Time & Talent Live and Silent Auction on September 9, 2023. Funds raised will be used to run educational programs at the museum.
Shelly Wilkins of Shelly’s Family Dining in Kohler donated fresh-cooked sausage and hot dogs with homemade zucchini relish to feed hungry bidders. 
Heide and Colin Isaacs of Fisherville were excited to find this historic handmade quilt, which they plan to gift to their six-month-old great-nephew, Giovanni, in Italy.

Event organizer and museum curator Dana Stavinga and auctioneer Ken Mercer are enjoying the exciting and successful live auction. Stavinga expressed her gratitude to those who came to support the museum “even on a Saturday night when there are so many other events going on,” volunteers who are “the backbone of the event,” and Mercer, who donates his time as the auctioneer every year.
