Golfers compete in Florida

CALEDONIA—Charlie Cooper and Derek D’Ortenzio have a few things in common, from being born and raised in Caledonia to their unending passion for golf. The two competed at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour tournament (MJT) in Florida from November 7 to 10, 2019.

“I have been golfing for as long as I can remember and this is due to my father and his passion for golf,” said D’Ortenzio, who admits he didn’t really get into golf until around age 11 when he realized he had a knack for the sport. He started competing in tournaments at age 13.
