DUNNVILLE—GrandErie Home Hardware Building Centre has been named Best Home Hardware Building Centre – Central Region at the Proud of My Home Achievement Awards and Celebration. The awards were handed out at Home Hardware’s 2022 Homecoming event in Toronto on September 23, 2022.

“The Proud of My Home title for these awards is tremendously fitting,” said Henry DeKlerk, Dealer-Owner, GrandErie Home Hardware Building Centre. “The day-to-day commitment from our staff and the support from our community is what makes us so very proud of our Home. Our team provides exceptional service, even when things get tough, they continue to show up for our community – a community that has also proven to show up. We are extremely appreciative and humbled by their support.”

There are upward of 500 Home stores in Ontario; being named Best Building Centre by National Home Hardware is a tremendous accomplishment. Recipients must demonstrate excellence in staff performance and customer service; interior presentation, including clear signage, tidiness, and merchandise presentation; exterior presentation, including cleanliness and window displays; and staff training and participation.

GrandErie Home Hardware Building Centre’s dedicated team of over 80 staff strives to provide a positive shopping experience that meets the needs of their residential, agricultural, and commercial customers. They have consistently prioritized a high standard of service and have unparalleled relationships with their community and employees.

“The Proud of My Home Achievement Award recognizes GrandErie Home Hardware Building Centre’s commitment and dedication to putting their customers first,” said Kevin Macnab, President and CEO, Home Hardware Stores Limited. “On behalf of Home Hardware Stores Limited and the Dealer-Owners representing close to 1,100 Home Hardware stores in communities across Canada, I would like to congratulate them on this achievement.”

GrandErie Home Hardware Building Centre is owned by five local partners: Ken Zantingh, Henry DeKlerk, Bert Mulder, Wes Zantingh, and Nate Mulder. They have been serving the community since 1989 when GrandErie Ltd. opened as a feed mill. Over the years, the store has been a proud supporter of community events and organizations.
