DUNNVILLE—On Wednesday, October 28, 2020 Great Art For Great Lakes istalled their Water Wheel project, created by local artist Gina McIntee and approximately 300 community members who participated virtually.
The wheel consists of a central hub, which represents the turtle of some Indigenous creation stories that is said to hold up the land. The 13 sections on the hub and paddles represent 13 moons in the year, with the 28-day moon cycle represented by the 28 paddles circling the hub and final centralized paddle. The wheel has 364 sections on each side, signifying days in this lunar calendar year.
