Advances in technology are having a positive impact on growth and production in all areas of agriculture, including the tree and truffle industry.
Earthgen International Ltd. was established in 2003 and grows truffles, a luxury mushroom. Truffles can be grown by dipping the root system of trees, such as hazlenut and oak trees, into a truffle puree to “inoculate” them. A few years later, the trees are full grown and the truffles can be harvested.
Owner Adam Koziol began using his Early Maturity Inducement Plant Process (EMIPP), which rapidly matures trees by developing their roots very quickly, “because it was such a unique way of producing and growing a tree.”
