HAGERSVILLE—The morning rays of sunshine were a welcome sight for the people and canines alike who took part in the annual Hagersville Lions Club Walk for Dog Guides on May 11, 2019.
The Walk for Dog Guides raises funds for the Lions Foundation of Canada, which oversees the training of dog guides in Oakville, Ontario. Carol Liscombe of Hagersville appreciates first-hand the contributions of the Lions as she is the owner of Elmer, a Special Skills Service Dog. Elmer’s skills include opening and closing doors, picking things up (even something as small as a credit card), and barking and going for help.
