HAGERSVILLE—On Thursday, August 16, 2019 the Haldimand Abilities Centre (HAC) unveiled its new van at “Vanstock”, a fun Woodstock-themed event. The van, which will continue to provide free accessible transportation to eligible participants in Haldimand County, was purchased with a $67,600 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).
OTF awarded $108 million to 629 projects last year to build healthy and vibrant communities in Ontario. The Hagersville Lion’s Club also generously donated $1,200 to the centre to pay for the van’s decals.
Local MPP Toby Barrett and OTF Grant Review Team member Rick Sterne were in attendance to help present the van and receive the OTF plaque. The new vehicle will replace an older van which lasted the centre 10 years and clocked 334,000km transporting clients from all over Haldimand County to the centre’s main location at 42 Main St. S., Hagersville.
