HAGERSVILLE—Haldimand Abilities Centre (HAC) is growing a new area in their garden, although it doesn’t involve any plants. Instead, HAC is inviting community members to get creative and make artwork on a rock to be included in its rock garden.
“The painted rock project was the brainchild of last summer’s Human Resources Development Canada Summer Jobs student, Britney. She had seen painted rock projects in other communities and thought that our participants and community may enjoy a similar project,” said Sandra Mallett, Public Relations Co-ordinator at HAC. Mallett noted that their clients benefit from the project as it engages them to find rocks, gives them a creative outlet in painting the rocks, and provides an opportunity to share positive messages. “It also helps us to showcase the garden at Haldimand Abilities Centre.”
