The following were discussed at Council in Committee on April 16, 2019. Any decisions were ratified at Council on April 23.

New no-parking zone in Jarvis

Haldimand Council approved a motion of consent to move forward with a new no-parking zone on Park Street in Jarvis. Feedback received from local businesses and residents say parked cars on the east side of the street have blocked residential driveways and made access to garage service bays difficult.

The no-parking by-law on Park Street will cost $200 for warning signage, as well as modifying the pavement markings in the area to clearly mark where parking is permitted.

Construction at the new emergency department at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital (HWMH) is complete and Haldimand Council approved changes to the on-street parking. Changes at HWMH give emergency vehicles a new, dedicated entrance/exit to the building on Broad Street. Staff recommended a no-stopping zone on Broad Street between entrances to the hospital emergency department.

Eight parking spaces have been moved as well as the entrance to the Village by the Grand retirement home. Haldimand Council approved the suggested changes, which will cost $400 for signage and line painting.
