HALDIMAND—Haldimand County released the following information on upcoming holiday closures for public facilities.
Haldimand County Administration Building
The Haldimand County Administration Building will be closed for the holidays from 4:30 p.m. on December 23, 2022 until January 3, 2023.
Garbage & recycling curbside collection
Garbage and recycling curbside collection will be delayed by one day for two weeks.
Week of December 25 – Monday collection will occur on Tuesday, December 27 and continue to be delayed one day with Friday collection finishing on Saturday, December 31.
Week of January 1 – Monday collection will occur on Tuesday, January 3 and continue to be delayed one day with Friday collection finishing on Saturday, January 7.
Libraries
- December 24 – Closed
- December 25 – Closed
- December 26 – Closed
- December 31 – Closed
- January 1 – Closed
All other days will have regular operating hours and feature in-branch programs for kids aged 3-12.
Arenas
- December 24 – Closed at 3 p.m.
- December 25 – Closed
- December 26 – Closed (Caledonia arena open for rental bookings only)
- December 31 – Closed at 3 p.m.
- January 1 – Closed
All other days will feature free public holiday skates.
Museums
The Heritage Centre will be open the hours of the Cayuga Library.
The Archives (located in the Library + Heritage Centre) will be closed from December 19 to January 2, inclusive.
Edinburgh Square Heritage & Cultural Centre will be closed December 19 to January 2, inclusive.
Wilson MacDonald Memorial School Museum will be closed for the season December 9 – February 21, inclusive.
Canborough Waste Management Facility
- December 24 – Closed at 1 p.m.
- December 25 – Closed
- December 26 – Closed
- December 31 – Closed at 1 p.m.
- January 1 – Closed
- January 2 – Closed
- All other days open 8 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.
Provincial Offences Court & Administration (POA)
Provincial Offences Court & Administration will be closed for the holidays from 4:30 p.m. on December 23, 2022 until January 3, 2023.
If you require an extension to pay an outstanding fine, please submit an application to the POA administration office no later than Monday, December 19, 2022 to ensure that it is processed before the holidays. The extension application can be found on our website. Please send completed applications to poa@haldimandcounty.on.ca or drop them off in person.
Payments may be made online by credit card to PayTickets.ca, which may be accessed through the Haldimand County website at haldimandcounty.ca/provincial- offences.

For cemetery inquiries during the Haldimand County office closure, please leave a message for Cemetery staff at 905-318-5932 ext. 6510 or via email at cemeteries@haldimandcounty.on.ca. Although cemetery services will not be available on Christmas, Boxing Day, or New Year’s Day, messages will be monitored during the office closure and County staff will contact you for any services that are required before offices reopen on January 3, 2023.
