Haldimand County going green with electric cars

CAYUGA—On Monday, June 7, 2021 Haldimand County unveiled the newest components of their vehicle fleet with the addition of two electric cars.

The cars were purchased from a company in Otterville, Ontario at a cost of approximately $35,000 funded through the Haldimand County Vibrancy Fund.

“We’re trying this as a pilot to see how it works out,” said Mayor Ken Hewitt. “It was an opportunity to try to see if we can change our fleet to be a little more green and to take advantage of some of the opportunities that are happening through changing regulations.”
