HALDIMAND—The Economic Development and Tourism Department (EDT) for Haldimand County has been given a funding boost to the tune of $166,962.50 from the Tourism Association of Ontario as part of a plan to boost attention towards the reopening of the local tourism sector.

The funding will implement a list of actions designed to support local businesses in opening their doors, while giving them time to recover from the impact of COVID-19.

“The majority of the funds are to be directed towards marketing and advertising to support local businesses. We are also investigating potential tools to support businesses including the development of an online community marketplace,” said Lidy Romanuk, Manager of the EDT Department.
