HALDIMAND—Haldimand Horticultural Society hosted Kevin Kavanagh for our general meeting on August 22, 2019.

Kavanagh is the owner of South Coast Gardens, a specialty nursery and landscape design business in the heart of Ontario’s Carolinian zone. He has a longstanding interest in broad-leaved evergreens more commonly associated with the deep south, which he has been assessing the hardiness of in garden beds around the nursery. He shared the ups and downs of the past 10 years in his efforts to “push the zone”.
