CALEDONIA—The next Haldimand Horticultural Society meeting will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. “The Ethical Gardener” by Marilyn Cornwell will take us on a tour of the plants that bring the most bees and butterflies to the garden to sustain our environment. We will explore how we can contribute back to our garden in ways that bring more beauty to the garden.
Marilyn is a photographer and gardener living in Grimsby, Ontario. In 2008, she started her second career as a garden photographer.
Marilyn recently exhibited some of her photography work at the Toronto Botanical Gardens. Her series “Marvelling the Mushroom” drew great interest.
On Saturday, March 30, 2019 we will be hosting our annual Seedy Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McKinnon Park Secondary School, 91 Haddington St. Caledonia. There will be a seed swap table, workshops, 30 vendors, seeds, plants, hands-on activities, etc. Speakers include Art Ward – Photography; Kate Powell – Invasive Species; Linda Crage – Tomato plants in the Garden; and Emma Briggs – Gardening With Children.
