Caledonia Corvairs

Despite a shaky start in their first game, the Caledonia Corvairs have caught up to speed, as shown by their three wins this past week. First, they beat Buffalo 4-2 on September 11, 2019. Caledonia’s Tyler Burnie opened the scoring shorthanded and unassisted halfway through the first. Buffalo tied it two minutes later. Corvairs Ryan Wells and Kessler Skye gave Caledonia a solid lead in the second with a goal each, which Wells added to again in the third. Buffalo managed one more with less than 15 seconds left, but it was too little too late. Harrison Fleming had the win between the pipes, facing 25 shots.

September 14 Skye opened the scoring. Welland tied it, but Henry Scott put Caledonia ahead on the powerplay at the end of the first. Caledonia had a similarly successful second period, with goals from Burnie, Cole Csorbay, and Joel Mazzilli. Eric Guest scored at the start of the third and Welland finally found the net again less than 20 seconds later. Caledonia kept a strong hold of the remaining time and finished with a 6-2 win. Fleming faced only 15 shots.
