HAGERSVILLE—The members of the Haldimand Quilters Guild have been sharing a love of quilting for more than 30 years. They are dedicated to the craft and the community, which will be seen at a special spring luncheon on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Hagersville United Church.

The theme “Quilting to the Tunes” will be highlighted by the guest speaker AnnMarie Rowland. The singer-songwriter and quilter is described as “a woman of many talents who loves to share them with others”. Her presentation promises to be entertaining and inspiring.

Inspiration will also be found in the various member quilting projects that will be on display. Though not to the scale of a quilt show, the intricate workmanship and creativity that goes into quilting will be evident. Guild member Shirley Keller says, “You don’t have to be a quilter to enjoy this!”

Keller adds that the Guild has continued to use their craft to support the community. In the past year two quilts were made for the hospitals and approximately 30 have been donated for Ukrainian families.

The Haldimand Quilters Guild members look forward to welcoming guests on April 3. Tickets are $25 and include lunch, door prizes (for quilters and non-quilters), and more. Doors open at 11 a.m., providing the opportunity to browse the penny sale table and admire the quilts on display.

For anyone interested in joining the Haldimand Quilters Guild, meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Hagersville United Church (note: there is a membership fee). Whatever your level of quilting – experienced or beginner, a crafter or a collector of fabrics – all are welcome to share in the fellowship that lies at the heart of this beloved tradition.
