Accidents can happen in a split second. Nineteen years ago, my son Quentin was playing outside while we were cutting the grass. He got too close to the lawn mower and lost part of his left foot.  Quentin, now 21, grew up in The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program and he helps pass on the Association’s PLAYSAFE message. With lawn cutting season here, I want to remind parents, teachers, and community group leaders that kids should never be near or ride on lawn mowers.
