Growing up in the county myself, I could relate to being driven around to a few neighbouring houses to do our trick-or-treating.

What I remember most is the creativity of making our own costumes.  I can recall my mom sewing, hot-gluing, and calling up the grandparents to see what accessory tidbits they had in their wardrobes and storage trunks that we could use.

Sometimes our outfits were driven by request, and sometimes they were dictated by whatever we had on hand to work with.

Nowadays, it’s easier and more convenient to browse online or go shopping to pick up a ready-to-go outfit.
