To the Editors,
As has been noted by governments and media, more than 80% of all deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic, in Canada and in Ontario, have been persons living in long-term care. We all must feel the sadness and shame of this.
In the riding of Haldimand Norfolk, residents have been especially harmed and we extend our condolences to the community for the tremendous loss of 23 persons residing at Anson Place Care Home. We especially remember those who lost parents and loved ones.

The second wave of COVID-19 is coming and many weaknesses in long-term care must be addressed.
