Have Your Say: On Leslyn Lewis’ arrival to politics in Haldimand and Norfolk

To the Editors,

Regarding Leslyn Lewis’ arrival to local politics – is it too much to ask today’s Conservatives to remember their once progressive roots?

Why the abandonment of a laser-like focus on sound economic policy and debt/deficit control for a devil’s bargain with Holy Harolds and Preachy Pearls obsessed with sticking superior noses into the private lives, wombs, and hearts of other citizens so intolerably equal to them? Because that’s what Jesus would do?

I would remind “born agains” that they were born in (or chose to emigrate to) Canada, not Iran, and this is a nation governed by the Constitution and Charter of Rights and Freedoms, not their Bible, the Book of Mormon, Qur’an, or other religious text.
