Have Your Say: Re: Are teachers alone responsible for educational outcomes?

To the Editors,

In the April 25 issue, a letter appeared that seemed to be a reply to my letter of April 18, but did not mention my name, so I will extend the same courtesy in return.

The writer seemed to suggest that we attempt to eliminate some of the human element from the education system. The only problem with that is that education is ALL about people, which makes such a goal difficult. It is equally hard to remove teachers from the equation, with 85% of the total Education Budget being directly or indirectly connected to teachers, and the largest item in that percentage being salaries.
