To the Editors,
I have reason to question several alleged untruths or strange exaggerations in last week’s Letter to the Editors by Mr. Bob Gaunt concerning the plight of teachers over the decades, namely the last 60 years.
My article several weeks ago told of my schooling back in the rural 50s, namely when one dedicated teacher taught all eight grades in a one-room school. Mr. Gaunt lived in the same era but did not have the same fond memories I have and would rather have lived in the “realities of society and education today” where union leaders run the education system.
