SELKIRK—A small group of ladies in Selkirk have kept busy this winter, getting together and adding to the Poppy Display used during the Remembrance Day season in Selkirk. We had such great support when we launched the Selkirk Chamber of Commerce Poppy Project in 2021 that we didn’t get the supply of donated knit and crocheted poppies used up. The decision was made that we needed to add and improve the drapes used at our Memorial Gates and the publicly owned properties in the village such as our fire hall, community centre, and post office. This has been a great social time during the grey months of winter. Jenny Bryce hosts a morning coffee time and wants to thank the support of Pat Hoover, Pat Jenkins, Carolyn Schweyer, and Dawn Lafonde for showing up every week since November. The plan is to take this into the nicer weather or when we use up the materials at hand.
