Haldimand Horticultural Society (HHS) volunteers have been busy creating a pollinator garden at the west entrance of Burke Estates Park located at 221 Orkney Street East in Caledonia. It has been half planted with all native pollinator friendly plants that are looking great. Various types of other plants were purchased, milkweed among them. As the volunteers were working, a monarch butterfly lazily fluttered around and then landed on the milkweed plant. Thank you to Haldimand County for the funding for this project and to all the volunteers who organized the project and came out to plant and spread mulch.
