HN Social Services and Housing continues to offer support during COVID-19

To The Haldimand Press

HALDIMAND—Haldimand Norfolk Social Services and Housing is continuing to offer support during the COVID-19 pandemic through the Housing Stability Bank Program. While the program is regularly available, it has been enhanced by the provincially funded Social Services Relief Fund to support those impacted specifically by COVID-19 and the repercussions of lost income and maintaining housing stability.

The Housing Stability Bank Program is available for moderate to low-income households requiring support in starting up a new residence or maintaining a current residence. It can help eligible applicants with last month’s rent or utility connections if you are moving to a more affordable accommodation, or it can assist with rent or utility arrears if you have fallen behind and are at risk of eviction or disconnect.

Applicants must complete and submit a Housing Stability Bank application form available at           hnhousing.org/application-forms.

In addition to this program, there are Short-Term Housing Allowances, which provide monthly rent subsidies designed to immediately help expand affordable rental housing opportunities, as well as the Food Distribution Intake program, which ensures people have access to food while self-isolating.
