JARVIS—I need to address the elephant in the room: in the last two weeks three clear horrific incidents ended up in my plate; all three have the same common denominator … namely kids.

It started with a call from a devastated mother and 5-year-old son who had watched some kids harass a mallard duck so bad she fled from her nest, after which the kids proceeded to smash all her eggs. The police were involved in this case, but the parents felt it was no big deal because it is just a duck and some eggs, so who cares. It is in fact a federal offence under the MBCA, but no charges were laid.
