HALDIMAND—The Hagersville Hawks Junior C team got the holidays off to a good start with a 4-2 win over the Glanbrook Rangers on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. The Hawks soared high in the first with three goals from Ralph Taggart, Peter Cappucci, and Tycie Cowan (unassisted). Glanbrook got the lone goal of the second period. Patrick Sanelli scored for Hagersville at the start of the third. Glanbrook managed one more a few minutes later, but the Hawks kept control of the game for the win. Justin Easter had 42 saves in the win between the pipes.

The Dunnville Mudcats also had a strong start rearing up for Christmas when they defeated the Hamilton Huskies Jr Blues 6-2 on December 20. The Blues had the lone goal of the first, but Dunnville got themselves up by one by the end of the second with goals from Jakob Murdoch and Noah Czyzewski. The Mudcats went on a scoring spree in the third. Milos Todorovic found the back of the net twice in a row. Carter Gates scored next for Dunnville, followed by Jacob Broughton. The Blues got their last goal in the final minute, but remained far behind. It was an aggressive game, with the Blues being shorthanded 12 times and having two players receive game misconducts.
