HAGERSVILLE—Recently two Directors of West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH) and Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) – Jennifer Edwards and Kang-Wei (David) Liu – were recognized for outstanding dedication to community health care in 2020.
Jennifer Edwards is Director of Infection Prevention and Control for both hospitals. She was recognized as a Frontline Hero for her work during the pandemic by Infection Prevention and Control Canada.
As the Infection Control Practitioner at WHGH since 2017, Edwards’ duties include offering guidance, support, surveillance, and reporting of organisms, development of policy and procedure, and consultation on infection control matters that impact the safety of patients, visitors, volunteers, and staff. She also serves as liaison with local public health units and other health care facilities.
