Jarvis Community Christian School honours Truth and Reconciliation Day
JARVIS—Shown here are Jarvis Community Christian school’s Grades 4 to 8 students, participating in a variation of a land acknowledgement practice, led by the school’s principal Chad Haverkamp. “The trees, the sky, the earth… According to their native teachings, all of these elements were connected, and human beings needed to live in harmony with these things. This is actually not too far removed, or too dissimilar from our Christian teachings,” said Haverkamp while leading the students into an exercise of gratitude and reconciliation.
