Dunnville Mudcats

PJHL, 7th Place in Division (of 8 teams)

The Dunnville Mudcats had a hard-fought game against the Niagara RiverHawks on November 8, 2019. There was no scoring in the first. Niagara got on the board early in the second, which was answered by Noah Bourdon shorthanded. The Riverhawks took the lead again that period. Jack MacDonald tied it up again for Dunnville halfway through the third. The RiverHawks scored once more, but the Mudcats were unable to find the tying goal before the buzzer rang in the 3-2 loss. Mitch Harvey made 35 saves for Dunnville.

Dunnville then headed to Hagersville November 9. Hagersville’s Jayden Lammel opened the scoring in the first. Hawks Matt Weston and Peter Cappucci each scored early in the second. Dunnville’s Riley Ricker got the Mudcats on the board, but Hagersville scored twice more that period with goals from Alastair Irvine and Lammel. The Hawks dominated the entire third period with goals from Adam Carusello, Connor Stirling, and Patrick Sanelli. Dunnville was unable to generate any further offence and were swept away 8-1. Austin Davison faced 42 shots for Dunnville, while Jamie Ferguson saw only 19 shots in net for Hagersville.

The Mudcats hosted Grimsby after press time Tuesday. Next, they host Glanbrook November 15 at 7:30 p.m.
