JARVIS—In his first event at the senior level, Kyle Chambers of Jarvis won a gold medal in the Para standing mobility division in Kata (floor routine) at the 2019 Canadian Karate Championships in Gatineau, Quebec on Saturday, January 19, 2019.
“It was very cool because I worked a lot of hours for it and there was a lot of people that helped me get to the point where I am,” said Chambers on his recent win. Chambers competed with the Ontario Karate Federation, although he also competes locally and with the Shintani National Team. Chambers also won a silver medal in Kata in November in a Delhi tournament.
