To the Editors,
While driving through Cayuga coming from the west you will see a blue banner on the side of the Royal Canadian Legion which reads, “CayugaFest – 3rd Weekend in July.”
Ironically, it has stood the test of time and is a sad reminder of the now defunct event I initiated and chaired from 2002 to 2005. Above is a copy of the actual banner being suspended on the side of my 1956 GMC highway coach conversion prior to a Jarvis parade in 2003.
The people hanging it are Doug and Lee Rozon, plus myself. The banner and my old bus travelled to several parades in Haldimand during my tenure as chairman.
While we can never relive the past, it’s nice that we can share memories of days gone by.
