To the Editors,
Ms. Ferris-Little’s recent comments (Dec. 12) drew renewed attention to the folly of viewing online courses as a one-size-fits-all addition to every high school student’s educational experience. For example she was absolutely right to note that online courses tend to have a higher proportion of drop-outs than with face-to-face offerings. Moreover, no doubt a key reason for that problem is precisely what she alleged: “eLearning is not for everyone.”
