Letters to the editor re: Letter to Premier Ford, Successful first International Women’s Day event

Letter to Premier Ford

To the Editor,

I wrote a letter to Mr. Ford and asked him to reply to me within 10 days and if he did not, I was going to forward the letter to my local paper and hopefully it would get printed. I am sending you what I wrote.

Dear Premier Ford,

I am asking you to please respect our Independent MPP Bobbi Ann Brady.

You have not treated her very well in the past. You can clearly see she was the choice of Haldimand-Norfolk by a landslide. You were hoping she would not be returning, but we the people have spoken.

If you continue to humiliate her and disrespect her, we plan to come in droves to meet with you.

Respectfully submitted,

Lynne Garn,

Caledonia

Successful first International Women’s Day event

To the Editor,

My friends and I enjoyed the huge success of the first International Women’s Day held in Dunnville at the Dunnville Community Lifespan Centre.

The free event was due to the many volunteers and businesses that donated countless hours, prizes, and funding to make this possible.

The inspirational, courageous speakers shared stories of various careers, barriers to success, resilience, determination, and life decisions that created opportunities.

My group of friends and I enjoyed the conversations that evolved among us after listening and reflecting on our lives. We encourage each other, our daughters, granddaughters, sisters, sisters-in-law, and female friends with strength and encouragement as they fight for equality, gender identities, and expressions.

We all hope to attend this event each year and celebrate together!

P.S. The free breakfast was a nice bonus too!

Mary Leduc and friends,

Dunnville
