HALDIMAND—The dust has settled on a hotly-contested leadership race for the Conservative Party. Standing at the top of the heap is new Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, who took a commanding 68.15% of the overall vote.
Coming in third place was Haldimand Norfolk MP Leslyn Lewis. She also placed third in the 2020 leadership race, however her numbers were down as she took just 9.69% of the overall vote, compared to 30% in 2020. Other contestants this time included former Premier of Quebec Jean Charest at 16.07%, Roman Baber in fourth at 5.03%, and Scott Aitchison coming last with 1.06% of the vote.
