CALEDONIA—The Caledonia Lions hosted their annual Walk for Dog Guides on Sunday, May 26, 2019. Shown above are the 15 participants and their dogs at the Caledonia Lions Community Centre, along with Lion volunteers, enjoying the perfect sunny weather for this fundraiser that raised over $5,000 for service dogs that are provided to Canadians with disabilities.
“It’s about $25,000 to raise and train a guide dog,” said Caledonia Lions club member, Ralph Krueger. “They spend one year with a foster family as a puppy and then after year one they are evaluated for which program they work out best in, and then they get another year of training.”

“It’s a great opportunity to raise money so others can be supported the way we have been with dog guides,” said Jon, Max’s father.
